PES Charity Golf Tournament
PES Function & Event Chairman Mr. Foong June Choy organised a Charity Golf Tournament on 16th January 2016 at Sabah Golf and Country Club, Kota Kinabalu. It was quite a successful event which was participatd by 137 golfers with a total of 35 flights. There was an overwhelming response towards PES's drive for sponsorship and donation which contributed to more than RM48,000.00. The net proceeds from the tournament will go to PES Charity Donations for Sabah Cheshire Home, Yayasan Kebajikan Suria and Bukit Harapan Therapy Community and also for the annual cash incentive award to PES's Members' Children who achieved excellent results in their examination. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all the generous sponsors as well as to all Sub-Committee for ensuring the tournament was smoothly organized.

PES 19th Annual General Meeting
The 19th Annual General Meeting was held on 19th March 2016, at PES Office Kota Kinabalu. The academic excellence awards, presented by President Bunny in the company of Mr. Clarence Chong as a Welfare & Scholarship Chairman were received by 10 PES members' children. A total of 31 PES members attended the meeting. The meeting capped off with a buffet lunnch.

Installation of Office Bearers For The Year 2016-2017
Persatuan Elektrik Sabah (PES) 10th elected office bearers installation for the year 2016-2017 was being held at EWest Function Room, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 6th May 2016. On the same evening, Ir. Dr. Jacob Yan Ngai Nen and Datuk Lee Chuen Wan J.P were appointed as Technical Advisor and Legal Advisor for the year 2016 - 2017 respectively. The installation and swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Technical Advisor Ir. Dr. Jacob Yan Ngai Nen and the immediate Past President Mr. Woo Soo Poo.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Talks
Presented by Ir. Dr. Jacob Yan, the talk of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) was held at PES Office on 4th July 2016 for all members to better understand the process and requirement for application. This programme was introduced by PES Technical Advisor Ir. Dr. Jacob Yan and specially designed for those who are not highly educated by have an abundant of experience. Under this programme, applicants need to have at least 5 year executive/supervisory experience with supervision of staff. The purpose of this programme is to promote the improvement of salary, personal qualification promotion and increase self-confidence.

TEEAM Golf Competition
Staffield Country Resort, Martin, Negeri Sembilan on the 27th July hosted the TEEAM Golf Competition year 2016. PES committee members and members didn't miss the chance to participate and indeed, didn't return empty handed. It was a great networking sports event, and many golfers went home with great prizes and good memories. PES golfers who attended the event were, President Mr. Bunny Teh, Assistant Secretary lr. Alexander Richard, IPP Mr. Woo Soo Poo, Committee Member Mr. Albert Tey, PES members Mr. Chiew Kon Inn.

TEEAM 64th Anniversary Dinner
On 27th August 2016, TEEAM celebrated their 64th Anniversary and the grand dinner was held at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpuer. PES was very pleased that TEEAM had generously reciprocated a dinner table for PES. All were very entertained by the performances especially the LED dances. The event was very meaningful with the presentation of appreciation awards to all dinner sponsors, recognition award and many lucy draw prizes. PES recorded their appreciation and thanks for the invitation with congratulation for the successful grand dinner. Present to celebrate the joyful dinner on that night were President Mr. Bunny Teh, First Lady Madam Jenny, PES Office Secretary Ms. Marcyella and some PES members.

Signed pledge of commitment to the Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP)
In expressing support for the CITP programme, PES had been invited by CIDB Sabah Branch to attend the pledge signing ceremony, which was held on the 5th September 2016 at The Pacific Sutera Harbour Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. CITP is a comprehensive five-year programme between 2016 and 2020 to transform the nation's construction industry. The programme is part of the 11th Malaysia Plan. The Cheif Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Musa bin Haji Aman was invited as the guest of honour for the opening ceremony. The event was held conjunction with it was graduation ceremony of Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM). 20 CCD point were also awarded to signatory of the companies respectively. PES was represented by the Vice President Mr. Leslie Jong, Secretary Mr. Roslan Bin Serin and Assistant Treasurer Mr. Lai Tet Vui.

PES Courtesy Visit To CIDB Sabah
A courtesy visit was organized by PES to CIDB Sabah. The delegations are President Mr. Teh Bung Nee, Deputy President Mr. Leslie Jong and Aldrin Wong, Secretary Mr. Roslan Serin, Treasurer Datuk Zulfikar Ahmad, Committee Members Mr. Shah Fareed Datuk Awg. Sham. PES Committee members were welcomed by Sabah CIDB Director lr Hj. Sharifudin Bin Che Omar and Manager Mr. Paul B. Joannes.

The visit was to foster a better working relation with CIDB and at the same time, to introduce the new committee member of the Persatuan. During the visit, both parties has agreed to work together to help prepare places for industrial or work-site training for student from ABM (Akademi Binaan Malaysia) and also, a challenge to prepare CIDB related courses in electrical and mechanical related subjects.

Briefing on Task Force "OPS SECURE" to all PES members
Was held at PES Office lot 3-3r, 3rd floor, Beverly Hills Plaza, Kota Kinabalu on the 4th November 2016, presented by Mr. Mohd Zin Samsuri and Mr. Burhanuddin Md. Aliuddin from Task Force TNB-SESB. A fast-track project which has 2 phases and suppose to be done within six months time. The first phase is including repairing work and replacing worn-out cables. The second phase is development and upgrading system which involves installation of underground cables and substation works. At least 20 of PES members attended.

Briefing on Task Force "OPS SECURE" by SESB
On the 18th November 2016 further briefing was held at Wisma SESB, Kota Kinabalu and follow up from the previous briefing at PES office on the 4th November 2016. This briefing is open to all contractors around Sabah and all contractors were requested to prepare and submit company's profile for the project. Most of PES members were present.

Visiting To Kolej Technical Yayasan Sabah
PES had visited KTYS on the 15th December 2016 with the purpose of discussing any neither opportunity nor collaboration between PES and KYTS. Both parties decided to further the partnership by signing the MOU in the near future. Represent PES were President Mr. Bunny and Vice President Mr. Aldrin Wong.
