PES 17th Annual General Meeting
A total of 34 PES members attended the above meeting. Mr. Chew Kon Inn of Chew Electrical and Mr. Matthew Ng from Sunten Elektrik Sdn Bhd were appointed as PES Internal Auditor. Souvenirs were presented by Mr. Woo Soo Poo to PES Past Committee members as a token of appreciation while 16 PES member's children received scholarship presented by the Organizing Chairman Mr. Chin Chung Kee.

PES Installation of Office Bearers For Year 2014/2015
The Elected Office Bearers installation for the year 2014-2015 was held at Kampung Nelayan (Puteri), Bukit Padang. Ir. Dr. Jacob Yan Ngai Nen and Datuk Lee Chuen Wan J.P were reappointed as a Technical Advisor and Legal Advisor respectively for the year 2014-2015. And the Swearing-in was witnessed by both Technical Advisor and Legal Advisor.

SESB ARWS Kick-Off Meeting
ARWS (Assisted Rural Wiring Scheme) contract for the year 2013 has expired, a meeting between PES, PES Contractors and SESB (Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd) was held at Wisma SESB, Kota kinabalu on 7th May 2014. The renewal contract was approved by the Jawatan kuasa Perolehan dan Kewangan Lembaga (JPKL) on the 18th of Mac 2014. Meanwhile, six existing and two new; namely Maeno Fire Equipment and Restu Electrical Service PES contractors attended the Kick-off meeting. Among the important matters that were discussed were the project name in Bahasa Malaysia to be changed from Skim Bantuan Pendawaian Luar Bandar to Skim Pendawaian Luar Bandar whereby the English name remain unchanged.

Hj. Zulfikar Hari Raya Aidilfitre Open House
In conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, PES President Mr. Teh Bung Nee and members were invited by our PES treasury Mr. Hj. Mohamed Zulfikar Bin Ahmad to his Open House at his Office and Workshop in Menggatal. Guests were served with good food, great entertainment and Karaoke. This get-together helped promote close relationship ties among PES members and also trade cooperation and business opportunities among members.

Seminar On Sustainable Green Energy For Greener Sabah
The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) Sabah and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) of Germany invited PES for a seminar at Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Jalan Datuk Salleh Sulong, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. PES Secretary Mr. Roslan and Treasurer Mr. Zulfikar Ahmad attended the Seminar. 

The main objective of the Seminar was to address on how the Sabah Community especially major private sectors and NGOs can capitalize Green Technology onto higher value of greener economy. Many issues has been addressed during the Seminar some of it were the Incentives and Financial Assistance for the Private Sector, Opportunity in mini Hydro Development Project in Rural Area, Development Project on Renewable Energy and Opportunity in The Waste Management.

SME Dialogue With YB Datuk IR Dr Wee Ka Siong
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department invited PES to attend the SME dialogue at Hotel Pacific Sutera, Kota Kinabalu. PES Committee member Mr. Clarence Chong attended the dialogue.
The main aim was to stimulate increase in entrepreneurship nationwide and to achieve minimum 4% contribution to the Country’s GDP by 2020. Thus, Allowing the Government and Agencies to have a clearer picture in achieving to reaching out to the entire SME Community.

Courtest Visit To Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB)
Striving to have a closer working relation with Government sectors and private companies, PES President Mr.Bunny Teh organized a Courtesy visit to SESB at Wisma SESB, Kota Kinabalu. With his entourage VP Mr.Leslie Jong, Tresurer Mr.Zulfikar, Secretary Mr.Roslan and committee members Aldrin Wong. It was highlighted that PES and SESB to collaborate further in the ARWS projects, and on the JKR issue on way-leave for electrical infrastructure. It was a fruitful and informative discussion for both parties. PES thanks SESB for the information shared and hope to foster a closer relationships in the near future.

TEEAM 62nd Anniversary Dinner
PES was invited to the above dinner by The Electrical and Electronic Association of Malaysia (TEEAM)  at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur. PES President Mr. Teh Bung Nee and 1st lady, PES Immediate Past President Mr. Woo Soo Poo, PES Committee Members Mr. Danny Chin, Mr. David Chan and spouse attended the Celebration. The event was graced by the presence of YBhg Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water of Malaysia as the Guest of Honour.

PES Courtesy Visit To Suruhanjaya Tenaga
A courtesy visit was organised by PES to Suruhanjaya Tenaga Sabah Branch at the Bangunan BSN, Jalan Kemajuan, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. PES Vice President II Mr. Leslie Jong accompanied by Secretary Mr. Roslan Serin, Treasurer Mr. Zulfikar Ahmad, Committee Members Mr. Shah Free and Mr. Aldrin Wong and on hand to received them were Puan Nazlin Bt. Ab. Alim Sidiki and ST officers.

The visit is to foster a better relationship with the agencies and to introduce PES team for 2014 /2015 term to them. The discussion was very interesting and fruitful, besides the above both parties also shared information on the country’s economy, market conditions and business trends.

PES GST Seminar & Its Impact On Specific Industries
PES Events and Seminar Committee organized a two days GST Seminar on its impacts on Engineering Consulting, Contracting and Trading Industries. Approximately 34 PES members and non-members participated, which was held at Wisma Kinsabina, Jalan Penampang baru, Kota Kinabalu. The Facilitator; Mr. Tom Chong, with vast experienced and bags of  qualifications; MIA, MICPA, MIM, PSMPB Certify Trainer, Certified Master Performance Coach and Master Certified Coach Trainer.

This two-day workshop help to gain a clear understanding of the GST model, mechanism, systems and infrastructure requirements in relating to Engineering  Consulting, Contracting and Trading Industries and accounting of GST. The workshop also help to create awareness on practical issues on common pitfalls to be avoided which are essential for a successful transition into the GST era.

PES GST Seminar & Its Impact On Specific Industries
Due to the overwhelming response in the first session, PES Evants & Seminar Committee decided to organize another similar Seminar, and Mr. Tom Chong was again invited as the Facilitator.
The  two days comprehensive presentation on the topics are as follows:
- What is GST, Who is liable to register and Why.
- Correct GST requirements for different Trades and Services.
- Transitional Periods, before and after GST.

PES Fellowship Golf Tournament 2014 Press Conference
A press conference was held in conjunction with the PES Fellowship Golf Tournament 2014 at the Sabah Golf and Country Club. This fellowship  tournament was to foster a closer relation with fellow members , consultants , government  agencies and to raise fund for the association. Present were PES President Mr. Teh Bung Nee and First lady, committee members Mr. JC Foong, Mr. Aldrin Wong and Mr. David Chan. Reporters from Borneo Post  and daily Express ( Chinese Media )were invited to promote  and create more awareness of the Tournament.

PES Courtesy Visit To Jabatan Kerja Raya Sabah
A courtesy visit was organized by PES to Jabatan Kerja Raya Sabah. The delegation comprises of President Mr. Teh Bung Nee, Secretary Mr. Roslan Serin, Treasurer Mr. Zulfikar Ahmad, Committee Members Mr. Lee Vui Ken and  Mr. Aldrin Wong. On hand to received PES were Deputy Director (Development Infrastructure) Ir. Hj. Amrullah Hj. Kamal, Chief Assistant Director (Electrical) Mr. Martin Gustal, Chief Assistant Director (Mechanical) Ir. Raymond Salugan and others officer. The visit aimed to foster a better working relation with JKR especially in the Electrical infrastructure way-leave approval.

PES also took this opportunity to put forward the issues of HDD works on Trenchless Technology. Overall the discussion was very fruitful and PES thank Datuk Ir. John Anthony and his officers for the time and opportunity given to share issues of mutual concern.

PES Fellowship Gold Tournament 2014
The PES Fellowship Golf Tournament 2014 was successfully held Sabah Golf and Country Club, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. A total of 127 golfers took part in this tournament which tee-off in the morning.
The good weather has contributed to a smooth game and as a token of appreciation Datuk Robin Loh (SGCC President) and Mr. Peter Wong (SGCC Captain) were invited to join in the game.

ARWS Project Briefings and Site Visit Program
PES President Mr. Teh Bung Nee headed the above program, it was on invitation by SESB to Assist Rural Wiring Scheme Project. Briefings and Site Visit was held at Kampung Libodon, Sook.This is for rural folks  who has been certified by the District Office as less fortunate. PES has been collaborating with SESB for the past three years for the implementation of this project. It is still an ongoing project as many houses in the rural area has yet to have electricity supply. Y.B Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin the State Assembly of N.37 Sook and SESB Senior Manager En. Nasser also present, after the speech and press conference, then, followed by site visit and installation of meters.

ST Seminar
Suruhanjaya Tenaga has organised one day seminar on 25th November 2014 regarding “Seminar Pengguna Bijak Tenaga. Approximately 20 of PES members has participated in this seminar that at Shangrila Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu. This is continuously support from PES into ST program after courtesy visit on the previous month. This seminar help our members enhances the knowledge and new information in the smart energy system that presented by SESB and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Head Quarters).
